Newborn Problems both Common and Rare
Mary Grabowska ND, LM, LAc has been an Oregon licensed Naturopathic
Physician since 1993 and an acupuncturist and Washington licensed
midwife since 1994. She especially enjoys working with the mother’s
energy to stimulate the onset of labor. She teaches midwifery
and neonatology classes at the National College of Natural Medicine
in Portland, Oregon. Her first love is attending women at their
homebirths and watching the pure, innocent babes emerge into their
mama’s arms.
Mary’s course for the conference will focus on the newborn and
conditions particular to the neonatal period. We will review common
newborn conditions and how to reassure new parents regarding their
significance. Participants will lean about unusual complications
of the neonate as well as the management of these complications.

Root Medicine: Applying the Wisdom of the Female
Body to Birth and Mothering
Tami Kent, MSPT, is a Women’s Health Physical Therapist, mother
of three, and author. With advanced training in multiple bodywork
techniques and the ability to read energetic patterns of the body,
Tami provides a bridge between modern medicine and traditional
women’s wisdom. She is lead author and researcher for a scientific
study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and
shares her pioneering approach to restoring balance in the female
pelvis in her book, Wild Feminine: Finding Power, Spirit, and
Joy in the Root of the Female Body.
Tami’s course for the conference will introduce her integrative
approach to pelvic care. In a practice she calls Holistic Pelvic
Care ™, Tami physically and energetically realigns a woman’s pelvic
bowl. A valuable physical medicine, Holistic Pelvic Care can address
the imbalances in the root to alleviate a variety of pelvic symptoms,
enhance core vitality, and assist post-partum healing. Tami will
